Dylan UrquhartSeptember 8, 2015With Sunday Trading becoming another parliamentary issue in Perth again (this time about allowing the big chains to open earlier on Sunday), now is the time for small businesses in Perth to tighten up their digital marketing and social media in order to stay in touch with the local community.
Since social media was introduced, it was seen as the best friend to a small business, as it's cheap and easy to use. BUT. Social Media isn't as easy anymore. There's plenty more to do, more platforms to worry about and then there's the effort of maintaining a content strategy that speaks to your audience. Now the big brands are playing on the same pitch as small businesses.
It's now or never time to upgrade your marketing strategies to include digital and online
Small Businesses need to connect with their audience, share relevant stories and promote their business without looking like they are advertising. The biggest mistake small businesses make with their social media is that they use it to blatantly promote their products or services. DON'T DO THIS. Nobody goes onto Facebook looking for new products or services, thats what Google is for. Learn what attracts people to your business, then write about it to give your fans more information about certain aspects of your business, like how you make certain products or the backgrounds of your staff.
Remember the golden rule, if you won't read it - don't post it.
