Google's latest update will soon heavily penalise websites that are not mobile friendly. How will you know that your website is safe?
Google announced back in February 2015 that it would soon be changing up its search-ranking algorithms to help clean up smartphone search results to side with websites that are “mobile-friendly.” This means websites that are easily viewed and usable on mobile devices will have greater visibility in smartphone search results. Tablet search results currently will not be affected.
With the growth of smartphone usage, Google has recently predicted that the number of search queries performed on mobile devices will soon outnumber those done on computers, and they want to ensure these users are seeing content they can easily digest. Now, content and link building are no longer the only cool kids on the SEO block, but usability as well.
Easy. Google has since released a mobile-friendly checker for websites to use.
